Air Liquide’s ADVANCE strategic plan lays out our commitment to the environment and the important role of water management in inventing a more sustainable future. The Group aims to implement a water management plan and define a global standard for the quality of discharged water by 2025. The Air Liquide Bayport facility in Houston, Texas, has gotten a jumpstart on those plans, and was recently honored by ChemTreat as the 2024 Power of Water Award winner.  

The Power of Water Award honors an elite group of companies whose dedication and commitment to environmental sustainability is a fundamental responsibility of their business. Air Liquide and ChemTreat worked together to enhance the treatment of plant supply water in order to optimize water consumption while extending the runtime between necessary cleanings and maintaining cleanliness. By implementing a chlorine-dioxide based treatment process, Air Liquide was able to save over 273,000 gallons of water annually at the site while also discontinuing the use of harsher chemical compounds.
